The comparison people make is licence against licence, and on that basis office-only usually wins. The comparison that matters is the hour a day somebody spends typing up, plus the hours that quietly never reach an invoice because whoever typed them up rounded down when they were not sure.

Where Quandron is strong
- The record is made where the work happened
- Nothing is typed twice, so nothing shrinks on the way
- Same-day invoicing without a quiet hour
- Variations agreed on site instead of argued on the final invoice
- Priced hours next to worked hours, per job
Where office software with no field app is strong
- Familiar, and already set up the way you work
- Often cheaper on the licence alone
- Fine when the person doing the work is the person invoicing
- Accounting integrations that are already in place
Who is each one for?
Quandron — Firms where the work is done by someone other than the person who invoices it — which is every firm from about three people upwards.
office software with no field app — Sole traders and two-person firms where the person on the tools is the person at the keyboard, and the existing package already fits.
Common questions
Do I have to replace my accounting software?
No. Quandron takes you as far as the invoice and hands the figures over — a CSV in the Xero import format, or a plain CSV any package will take. Direct links come later.
Will my engineers actually use an app?
Only if it is faster than the pad. That is the demo worth doing: one engineer, own phone, real job, bad signal.
Can I keep quoting the way I do now?
Yes, with your own wording and standard lines — the difference is what happens after the quote is accepted.
